How to reach us

By car

From Rome and the North

Take the A1 highway towards Naples.
After Naples, take the A3 highway towards Salerno.
Exit at Castellammare di Stabia and take the SS 145 towards Sorrento.
At Meta di Sorrento, follow the signs for Positano (SS 163).
Once you arrive in Positano, follow the road to the city center. The hotel is approximately 500 metres away.

From Salerno and the South

Follow the SS 163 Amalfi Coast road to Positano.
Or:
Take the A3 Salerno-Naples highway towards Naples.
Exit at Castellammare di Stabia and take the SS 145 towards Sorrento.

By train

From Napoli Centrale Station

Take the Circumvesuviana local train to Sorrento.
From Sorrento station, take the SITA bus to Positano.
Alight at the Positano Chiesa Nuova stop.
From there, the hotel is a 5-minute walk away, following the road towards the city center.

From Salerno Station

Take a ferry to Amalfi, then another to Positano (only in favourable weather conditions).
Or:
Take a SITA bus to Amalfi, then another to Positano.
Alight at the Positano Chiesa Nuova stop.
From there, the hotel is a 5-minute walk away, following the road towards the city center.

By bus

From Sorrento, Amalfi and Salerno, there are several SITA buses to Positano.
Alight at the Positano Chiesa Nuova stop.
From there, the hotel is a 5-minute walk away, following the road to the city center.

From the beach

From the Positano pier, if you have heavy luggage, you can use the Porter Service, which will carry your luggage to the hotel for €10-15 per piece.
Then, head to Piazza dei Mulini and take the Interno Positano bus or a taxi to the hotel.
Important: do not follow Google Maps. The route indicated includes very steep stairs! Follow our instructions to reach us comfortably.

We loved everything about our stay at Il Gabbiano! We were there for 4 nights had the most wonderful time. The hotel is very clean, all of the staff were warm and welcoming, the room was beautiful, and a delicious breakfast on the balcony every morning was a nice treat.The view and balcony were amazing, the location was perfect (about a 15 minute walk to the beach, with a lot of great restaurants even closer), and the lobby had a nice seating area overlooking the coast- a great spot for a cappuccino or glass of wine/snacks.This was our first time in Positano and the we were so impressed with the hotel and the staff- we will definitely be back and will stay there again!

The Best of Positano!!

And we will for sure return again!!From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, it was amazing.The location is fabulous, and an easy walk to the beach or the town center.We were greeted by Monica when we arrived. She was so helpful and gave us a great room. She was so helpful and gave recommendations for great dinners close by.Our room was very clean, good size, had a king bed, and was very updated, and yet felt very Italian.Our terrace was ginormous. It had a sitting table with chairs, two Sun loungers, and a small couch and coffee table. It was very private and had an amazing view looking down on the town and on the beautiful sea. Very romantic!We had breakfast brought to our room each day which was included, and the food was super healthy and so fresh and yummy. In the evenings, we would sit out and stare at the lights of the city, as they reflected on the ocean while we drank Prosecco or wine! The hotel has a really nice gathering lounge area with a great view, and they have a full service bar that stays open till 11 PM, or you can get room service brought to your room with desserts, drinks, and snacks.We will definitely be returning to this hotel.If you are looking for a calm and relaxing getaway, then this is the hotel for you.You will not be disappointed in anyway.

Unbelievable, we will definitely return to the same hotel. Lovely staff seems to be family run, very well kept and has the magic of Italy. The view from our balcony was amazing, and they brought out breakfast straight to our balcony each morning (very good selection to choose from). Location was great, about 15/20 minute walk to the beach. Also very clean, cannot wait to go back already.
